About Ron Stewart

I've been programming as a hobby since 1982 (cobol, fortran and basic), and put my interest to work in 1986 when I was chosen to design and implement the Steam Trap Survey and Maintainance program for my department.

This introduced me to database design (dBase) and spreadsheets (Lotus). In 1987 I completed the Mini Computer Levels 1 & 2 Certification courses at Mohawk College. In 1989 I joined the Technical Support Group as the Training Co-ordinator and Programming Support Specialist.

I started using Microsoft Office products and became proficient in VBA, mainly dealing with MS Access. I designed my departments' employee, training, and environmental management databases.

After 30 years, I retired from Stelco - Hamilton in 2004. I started my own business in 2005 as I completed the Web Masters certification course at Mohawk College with both the Web Scripting and Web Graphics Specialist designations. I've been working with VB.Net and Blender recently and am familiar with all Office applications, Apache, MySQL, PHP, ASP.net, VB.net, Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver.
